Job Opportunity: Director of Emergency Management (Leadership)
Location: Colton, California
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across all emergency services.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative environment to enhance patient care and staff performance.
- Oversee budgeting, staffing, and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote physician collaboration and engagement.
- Manage approximately 170 FTEs through 3 Managers, 2 Unit Managers, and 2 Assistant Unit Managers.
- Work closely with the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) and collaborate with peers in similar leadership roles.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 36 months (3 years) of nursing experience required.
- At least 12 months of experience in Emergency Department (ED) / Trauma services required.
- Director-level leadership experience required.
- Ideal candidate has at least 5 years of nursing experience with 2 or more years in supervisory or Director roles in an acute care facility.
- Must have 24 months of current nursing experience documented in work history.
Certifications & Licenses
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission.
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) or CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification required.
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
- AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required.
- NIH/NIHSS certification required (can be obtained during onboarding).
- All licenses and certificates must be active.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Education
- MSN or BSN plus a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration required.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist specific to Emergency, Director, Leadership, Supervisor disciplines required.
- Professional references or performance evaluations from within the last 24 months preferred.
Interview Process
- Initial screening with Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO).
- Secondary screening with a panel.
- Possible in-person follow-up interview.
Other Information
- No UB/NBO (Uniform Benefits/Non-Billable Overtime).
- Overtime and double time rates follow blended rates and California labor laws.
- Timekeeping is managed via clock in/out reports provided by the facility.
