Job Description

The Charge Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse responsible for:

• Demonstrating strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and compassion for patients and teammates.
• Providing care for patients and overseeing unit operations throughout the assigned shift.
• Role modeling professional nursing behaviors, clinical competencies, and critical thinking.
• Mentoring and precepting new nurses to facilitate their transition from novice to expert.
• Occasionally managing a small patient assignment of 1-3 patients.
• Overseeing LPN, RN, and LNA practice and delegating care as appropriate.
• Coordinating employee breaks, creating nursing assignments, and adjusting based on patient acuity and discharges/admissions.
• Assisting LPNs/RNs/LNAs with patient care and monitoring lab/diagnostic test results.
• Communicating with nursing team members and management to coordinate daily activities of the unit.

Requirements

• Licensure:

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Active NH RN Licensure at the time of submission (Required)
• Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience (Required)
  • Charge RN experience (Preferred)
