Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical (Travel)

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks (open to 8 or 17 weeks)
• Start Date: Biweekly orientation
• Shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM EST (12-hour night shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (hours not guaranteed during orientation week)
• Orientation Week: Day shift
• Float Requirements: Yes, float to all acute care, cardiology, and Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats are uncommon and only for emergent needs
• Weekend Requirements: Rotate every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
• On Call/Call Back: Rare
• Break: 30 minutes

Work Environment

• Patient Ratios: 1:6 (day and night)
• Nurse Aides: CNAs ratio approximately 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
• Uniform: Caribbean blue or white scrubs

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Georgia or compact RN license
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA NIHSS
• Preferred Certifications: AHA ACLS highly preferred
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years solid experience on a Medical-Surgical unit (travel experience preferred)
  • Recent experience with Sickle Cell and PIV insertion required
• EMR Experience: Meditech Expanse preferred but not required (training provided)

Additional Notes

• Float pool position covering multiple acute care areas
• Potential to float to a nearby campus (1.8 miles away)
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs comfortable with night shifts, floating, and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
