Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry

Job Details

• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down (44 Bed Intermediate Cardiac Stepdown)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730)
• Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float: Required to float to all inpatient units as needed
• On Call/Call Back: May be low censused and put on call; minimum 2-hour call back pay
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4
• Unit Environment: Fast paced, high patient turnover with diverse cardiac and med/surg cases including post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, cath procedures, pacer/defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow (detox, DKA, COPD exacerbations, respiratory failure, fem-pop bypass)

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin RN License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years Intermediate Medical Care (IMC)/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry experience
  • Minimum 1 year strong cardiac experience in Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU
  • Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment must be completed (prior travel experience required)
  • Minimum 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required
• Skills: Must be able to pass an EKG test during the first week of hire
• Other: Hard worker, resilient, able to manage change well, socially adept, able to work independently and complete tasks timely

• Scrub colors: Any color allowed
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; call back pay applies if called in during these hours
• Orientation week hours may vary; guaranteed set hours per week except during holidays when the unit is closed

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac telemetry nurses who have prior travel experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
