Float Pool RN - Intensive Care Unit

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7a-7p, weekend and holiday rotation Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week

Role Overview

• Float Pool RN position, posted under the ICU job description.
• Nurses float between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU, so candidates must be comfortable moving across these units and caring for patients of varying acuity.
• Core duties include nursing assessments, treatments, and rounding; patient and family education; discharge planning; delegation and oversight of team members; and hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report.
• Physical requirements include frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs, frequent walking, repetitive motion and bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues.
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted, valid Kentucky RN license
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience (1 year), with experience within the last year
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association, within 90 days of hire
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree (additional experience cannot substitute for the degree)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Telemetry experience
