Pharmacist Position in Texas (Conroe)
Job Summary
- Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care.
- Identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
- Perform duties as a registered pharmacist for patients ranging from newborns to adults.
- Ensure medication doses are appropriate based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
- Accurately enter medication orders and ensure correct dispensing.
- Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
- Follow aseptic technique and infection control in sterile product preparation.
- Maintain investigational drug records and contribute to medication management.
- Conduct discharge medication reviews and counseling to ensure patient/caregiver understanding.
- Participate in study initiation, maintenance, and closure.
- Support patient safety systems and act as a role model for pharmacy staff.
- Check all communication channels (email, mailbox, voicemail) every shift.
- Maintain a smooth-running pharmacy environment.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, including weekends
- Hours per day: 10
- Hours per week: 40
- Contract length: 24 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Texas.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Experience with compounding medications.
Additional Information
- Experience working with patients of all ages (0 to adult).
- Commitment to aseptic technique and infection control, including ensuring technicians and other pharmacists comply.
- Participation in patient, caregiver, and community education.
