CT Technologist

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary

The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. The technologist prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and addresses questions or concerns with an age-appropriate approach. Responsibilities include patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control. The technologist also oversees and trains students providing patient care and services.


Job Responsibilities

  • Verify ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and principles of growth and development.
  • Administer contrast as directed.
  • Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
  • Utilize imaging and computer equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
  • Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Prepare patients professionally, educate them, and respond to questions or concerns with an age-appropriate approach.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Kentucky
  • CT Technologist with 2 years of experience
  • CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
