Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Job Summary

Lead Technician responsible for day-to-day operations of Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
Oversee smooth flow of chargeable and non-chargeable supplies to approximately 30 nursing units and clinics.
Manage multi-shift scheduling for 3 to 6 SPD associates.
Assist and relieve the Manager as needed.
Participate in departmental decisions, budgeting, and safety in collaboration with Charge Nurse and Clinical Manager.
Interview and orient new Sterile Processing Technicians.
Monitor compliance with sterilization procedures and guidelines.
Develop and enforce department procedures to ensure quality patient care.
Supervise adherence to sterilization protocols.
Process instruments according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Coordinate SPD services with other departments and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
Adapt assessment and service methods to meet population-specific and developmental needs.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
Experience as a Sterile Processing Technician within the last year
Must hold either the Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) credential or the Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) credential

Additional Information

This is a backfill replacement position.
