Pharmacist Travel Job Opportunity

Location: Muskogee, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 40 (5 shifts of 8 hours, including weekends)

Job Summary

• Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications based on physician prescriptions.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide consultation on quality, regulatory, and risk issues.
• Support clinical and medical staff as a pharmacy consultant.
• Assist in coordinating pharmacy activities and supervise technical support staff.
• Interpret medication orders and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional pharmacy standards.
• Provide education and drug information to hospital personnel and patients.
• Manage medication orders, ensuring accuracy, safety, and appropriateness for adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor pharmacokinetics dosing, fluid, electrolyte, and calorie needs.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and pharmacy security, including controlled substances.
• Prioritize and manage medication orders, including STAT and urgent requests.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Oklahoma
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)

Patient Population

• Adults and Geriatric (ages 18 through 65+).

Additional Information

• Must be capable of entering a minimum of 40 medication orders per four-hour shift.
• Experience with clinical, quality management, and education programs is expected.
• Ability to supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy personnel and technicians.
