Contract Length

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) verification acceptable (RRT preferred but CRT accepted)

Patient Population

• Adults primarily, with some pediatrics and infants in the ER setting

Work Areas

• Emergency Room (ER)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
• Hospital wards
• No outpatient services

Experience Requirements

• Adult critical care experience with confidence in this area
• Years of experience not explicitly stated; assume at least entry-level to intermediate critical care competency

Job Duties

• Drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Performing EKGs
• Ventilator management (Avea, LTV, Zoll vents)
• BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen therapies (V60, V30, SiPAP, Vapotherm, Optiflow)
• General respiratory therapy tasks
• Assisting with intubation (not required to intubate independently)

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM)
• Includes weekends and holidays
• No solo shifts (always at least two RTs on duty)
• Floating between two campuses may be required (West Campus: adults; East Campus: all ages)

Additional Requirements

• Weekend and holiday work required
• No call or standby call required
• Dress code: black scrubs, no logos
• Department orientation: 1 day neonatal orientation, 3 days department-specific orientation
• Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house

Prior Travel Experience
