Contract Length

• 16 weeks

Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract
• Self-scheduling is available for core staff; travelers are added in
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be within 50 miles of the assignment location

Experience / Clinical Expectations

• ICU experience
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• Must be able to float to PCU and occasionally MedSurg
• Must be able to care for adult patients with trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance use, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress

Unit Details

• 33-bed ICU
• Average daily census: 16
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3 for adults
• Nurse aides may assist based on census and volume
• Respiratory support may include nasal cannula to ventilator care

Additional Notes

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• Orientation includes 1 shift
• There is a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation; a score of 90% is required to pass
• Candidates cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
