Job Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy

- Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 1830-0700)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (both days and nights)
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Call Requirement: No call or standby call
- Floating: No floating within Respiratory Therapy
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided
Patient Population & Environment
- Care for general medical, intermediate, and ICU patients (adults, pediatrics, and neonates)
- Facility size: Large critical care facility (300+ beds)
- Hospitalist and Intensivist available 24/7 onsite
- Respiratory Therapy team includes a lead therapist who serves as a resource and does not take patient assignments
Equipment Used
- Ventilators: Servo U, Servo i, LTV
- Bipap/Cpap: ResMed S9
- Heated high flow: Fisher Paykel
Orientation & Training
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation including EPIC training, ventilator review, IPV, and specialty item review
- Followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor before working independently
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Experience in critical care at a large facility (300+ beds)
- Prefer candidates with RRT credential over CRT
- Must not have worked at this facility within the past year
- Active Illinois Respiratory Therapy license or proof that application process has been initiated
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
- No call shifts; no floating required
- Approximately 26-28 treatments per day based on AARC point system
- OSF call off policy allows 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
- Orientation hours do not count toward guaranteed hours
