Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a Cath Lab with 6 suites/labs, averaging 18 cases per day.
• Scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating duties primarily for high-risk coronary and neuro interventional procedures.
• Must be able to scrub/circulate STEMI interventions and willing to learn neuro interventional circulating/monitoring for call coverage.
• May float to Electrophysiology (EP) and Interventional Radiology (IR) as needed.
• Shift: Days, 5 days per week, 9 hours per day (0700 or 0830 start time assigned).
• Weekend call: 4 weekends during the 13-week assignment.
• Call response time: 30 minutes.
• Supervisor/charge nurse available during operating hours (0600-1630, Monday-Friday).
• Orientation: 5 shifts first week; then 4 shifts of 9 hours with call.
• Scrubs provided.
• EMR systems used: Epic and McKesson.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT-R)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • BLS (American Heart Association)

Additional Information

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius.
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or pay obligation.
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation).
• Typical patient diagnoses: Coronary and neuro cases, including high-risk coronary interventions.

Scheduling & Work Environment

• 5 days per week, 9-hour shifts.
• Weekend and holiday call required.
• Supervisor available during regular operating hours.
• Floating to related departments possible.
