• Unit: Med/Surg
• Beds: 28
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5
• Common patient types: General medical patients, including sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and CHF

Required qualifications

• BLS certification
• Current state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to titrate insulin and heparin drips

Preferred

• BSN
• 2+ years related work experience
• Ability to read tele strips

Schedule and unit expectations

• Day shift: 0600–1830
• Night shift: 1800–0630
• Weekend coverage required
• Holiday coverage required
• No charge nurse assignment
• No tele monitor techs on the unit
• CNA support is available at a ratio of 1:10–14
• Unit orientation is provided

Floating

• May float within Region I if needed
• Float locations include St. Anne Hospital in Burien, Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, and St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way
• First to float within Region I

Clinical equipment / support

• CPAP and established BiPAP only
• Insulin and heparin drips are used on the unit

• Clinical profile review and manager interview are required
• Professional-colored scrubs are allowed
