Assignment Details

• 13-week contract
• 8 PACU beds and 7 Pre beds
• Main PACU unit
• May float between Main and OPSC as needed

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• PALS (AHA)
• Acute recovery experience
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Not eligible if directly employed full time, part time, or PRN by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year

Preferred / Additional Submission Requirements

• 2 supervisor references at submittal, including 1 within the last 12 months and 1 within the last 3 years worked
• Copy of driver’s license needed at time of submittal to validate legal name
• DYS exam through UNA must be completed within 24-48 hours prior to signing, with 2 attempts to score 80%
• Screenshot showing number of attempts is required

Schedule

• Days
• 12-hour shifts
• Varied start times from 0500 to 0930
• Roughly 5 weekend call shifts and 8 weeknight call shifts per quarter
• 30-minute call response time
• No in-house weekend staff; call only on weekends
• Holidays rotate with core staff

Unit / Clinical Environment

• Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• Tele: Yes
• No vents
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house
• IV team available if necessary
• RT 24/7
• Pharmacy 24/7
• Charge nurse: Yes
• Nurse aides: No
• Floor orientation: 1–2 days in PACU with preceptor
• Common patient types include total hips/knees, general, daVinci, neuro, and urology
• Not a trauma hospital
• PACU may have ICU patients until beds open up in the unit
