Surgical Tech - OR Tech

Location: Redding, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced OR Tech for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves supporting a variety of surgical cases including cardiovascular, orthopedic, general, vascular, neuro/spine, ENT, and trauma surgeries. Transplant cases are excluded.

Work Schedule

• Night shifts, typically 10 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week
• Call required: 1-2 weeknights per week and approximately 1 weekend call per month (from end of shift Friday through 6:30 am Monday)
• Weekend and holiday coverage included in call schedule
• Shift options include 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts; mids start at 9:00 am or 10:45 am

Orientation & Environment

• One shift orientation with a preceptor on the specific floor
• Use of Cerner Surginet EMR system
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
• Telemetry equipment: Phillips
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on site
• Reporting structure includes Clinical Supervisor, OR Director, and OR Manager

Patient & Case Types

• Cardiovascular OR: CABG, valve surgeries, pacers, lead extractions, lung cases
• Main OR: Orthopedic (including total joints), general, vascular, neuro/spine, ENT, trauma
• Strong experience required with total joints, general, vascular, and spine cases

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR Tech experience
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required

• Call coverage includes nights and weekends
• Ratio of 1:1 staffing
• Candidates must be comfortable with a variety of surgical specialties and call demands
