Overview

• Role: OR RN
• Location: Seattle, Washington
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 4-10 hour shifts
• Hours per week: 40

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• Circulator experience
• Must be really comfortable in GYN
• DaVinci Xi experience
• Two years of experience
• First time travelers are okay
• Must be proficient in EPI

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in multiple types of cases
• Experience with a hospital of similar or larger size, if less than 2 years of experience

Unit Details

• Department: Operation Room
• Unit: OR RN
• 22 suites, with capability to go to 26
• Average of 50-65 cases per day
• Common cases include GYN, Uro, Vascular, Plastic, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General, Sports Med, Kidney transplants, ENT, and robot-assisted cases using DaVinci Xi

Scheduling and Call

• Variable days and start times Monday-Friday
• Start times: 0630, 0900, 1100
• No self-scheduling
• Start time stays consistent within the same week
• Tuesdays and Fridays have later start times for in-services and team meetings
• 1 call total per 4-week schedule
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7am the next morning
• Weekend call is 24 hours
• Call is rotated between staff and travelers
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Call room is available

Floating

• No floating

Orientation

• 1-2 days with HR and OR leadership, including EHR training
• 1-2 days on the unit with a preceptor
• Orientation may be longer if there is no previous Cerner experience

Additional Information

• Parking is at the traveler’s expense; garage parking is available with daily and monthly options, or travelers can use the Kings County Transit System
• The hospital does not reimburse for parking
• Teal scrubs are provided
• Over two absence occurrences in a 13-week contract is considered excessive and may lead to early termination
• Travelers must bring their own earphones for online training during the first week of orientation
