Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Work on a telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients.
- Patient diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues.
- Unit census: 36 rooms, average daily census of 35.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5.
- Electronic medical record system: Epic (required).
- Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week).
- Total hours per week: 36.
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
- Floating: Required within facility and scope of practice as needed.
- Call: None.
- Holiday work: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, expected to work both; if 3 holidays, expected to work 2.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
Compliance & Onboarding
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days.
- RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th).
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements mandatory to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
- Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final approval.
Required Documentation & Health Requirements
- Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start; must include county, national sex offender, nationwide criminal search, FACIS 3, and education verification.
- Education verification of nursing degree required; can be pending at start with proof of processing (due within 30 days).
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella.
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
- References: 2 clinical references required.
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months.
- Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof of processing.

- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length.
- Dress and professional appearance policy must be reviewed.
- Code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
