Job Summary

Seeking a Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in surgical services. The assignment starts on June 1 and lasts approximately 13 weeks.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Surgical Services (recent experience required)
• Proficient in the following procedures:

  • Tonsillectomy/Adenoidectomy
  • Appendectomy
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Colon resection (Open/Laparoscopic)
  • Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical)
  • Thyroidectomy (partial/total)
  • Abdominal hysterectomy
  • Anterior/Posterior Repair (Colporrhaphy)
  • Bilateral tubal ligation
  • Dilation & Curettage
  • Vaginal hysterectomy
  • Arthroscopy
  • Closed/Open reduction of fractures
  • Total hip replacement
  • Total knee replacement
  • Gynecologic robotic surgery
  • Cystoscopy
  • Nephrectomy
  • Prostatectomy
  • Transurethral resection of the prostate

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA certification

Additional Requirements

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO approved after offer
• Call-Out / Call-Off Policy: Maximum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Automatic disqualification if no license verification hits

Compliance & Documentation

Candidates must provide and maintain the following:

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start, signed by licensed provider
• Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity verification
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine records or declination
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 30 days of start
• Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
• Skills checklist verification
• State-specific documents such as Nurse Aide Registry and Medicaid Exclusion List (New York)

Competency & Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Pass/fail telemetry assessment on first day of orientation (if applicable) with remediation if needed

Notes

• Candidates are responsible for covering any additional shifts if needed
• Facility does not employ telemetry technicians; nurses must interpret cardiac rhythms independently if applicable

Requirements/Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA certification with at least 1 year of recent experience as an OR Tech / Surgical Technologist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience as an OR Tech / Surgical Technologist
• Experience with the following surgical procedures:
