Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse, MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 3+ years (based on MS/Tele specialty requirements)

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid California RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA and RQI only; instructor cards not accepted)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required for MS/Tele specialty
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except MedSurg, Tele, MS/Tele, NICU, Behavioral Health, or Case Managers in specified cost centers)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card required for ER and Behavioral Health (not applicable here)
• CEUs: Continuing Education Units within the last 24 months (minimum 1 contact hour, excluding BLS)
• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication/Calculation Exam and Arrhythmia Recognition Assessment (EKG exam) with 80% passing score required for MS/Tele nurses
• Signed HIPAA acknowledgment

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing within the last year

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually (no instant tests)
• Negative TB test (PPD, TSpot, or QGold) within 1 year; if positive, negative chest x-ray within 4 years and annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B series or declination (titer not accepted)
• Hepatitis C titer strongly preferred; declination accepted with reason
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or Pertussis titer showing immunity
• Seasonal Flu vaccination required by December 5 (declinations accepted with masking requirements)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation for current 2024-2025 vaccine or signed declination; masking required if not vaccinated
• N95 mask fit testing within 1 year, renewed annually (PAPR documentation accepted if N95 fit test failed)

Orientation and Facility Requirements

• Completion of orientation modules and acknowledgment forms prior to or during orientation
• Signed unit-specific job description prior to start
• Signed confidentiality agreement within 72 hours of signing
• Review and acknowledgment of workplace violence prevention, sexual violence and harassment policies, and other facility-specific policies
• Skills self-assessment and competency validations as required for RNs
• First Day Instructions (FDI) provided before start date
• Badge issuance and compliance with facility-specific documentation requirements

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be available for March start dates only
• Criminal background check within 1 year, including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, SS trace, and federal searches (no international searches required)
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Signed acknowledgment of pass/fail testing required for all RNs
