Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Nights)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs (float between like units)

  • Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)

  • On-call: No
  • Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Contract Limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only
  • NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)

Required Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina (must be current and not expiring the month of start)

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 6 months of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by a physician, NP, or PA-C, updated annually
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days (specific substances required)
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines required)
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required)
  • Flu vaccine required year-round or signed facility flu acknowledgment form if off-season; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must be completed via Relias and renewed annually)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with up to 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher; remediation required after failed attempts

Scheduling & Work Conditions

  • Guaranteed hours with call-off policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment must be worked; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling available
  • No locals accepted (must be outside 50-mile radius)
