Job Opportunity: Monitor Tech (Cardiac Monitor Tech)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Days, 3 shifts of 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30), every other weekend required
Start Date: ASAP, with options for 03/16/26 or 03/30/26


Job Description

  • Certified Cardiac Monitor Tech for day shifts (36 hours every other week)
  • Will accept first-time travelers
  • Candidates with RN license and strong cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia interpretation experience are also considered
  • Floating required to all specialties where cardiac monitoring is in place within the facility and to sister facility as needed
  • No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
  • Holidays required as they fall, as scheduled

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Monitor Technician experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government Issued Photo ID required
  • I9 or Attestation required
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification, and Maryland State Exclusions List
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
  • Negative drug screen (9-panel or 10-panel + Fentanyl depending on facility) within 30 days prior to start
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
    • TDAP (if working with children)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption for 2025-26 season
  • COVID vaccine not required for this location, but documentation or declination collected for tracking
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (not required for some specialties)
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Previous 5 years of employment history verification or attestation

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Age Specific Competency Exam (required for all, including CNAs)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for RN specialties and Cath Lab Techs)

Facility Specific Information

  • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs; pink scrubs for trauma; pediatric department allows child-friendly tops with navy blue pants
  • Photo for badge: Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background required
  • Dress code and confidentiality agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with floating responsibilities and requires strong cardiac monitoring skills. It is suitable for candidates with at least 1 year of experience in cardiac monitoring and appropriate certifications. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
