Job Description

• Shift: Day/Evening rotating shifts required

  • Rotation options:

    • 2 shifts of 8 hours + 2 shifts of 12 hours (06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30 and 06:30-18:30 / 10:30-22:30)
    • Or 5 shifts of 8 hours (06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30)
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients with complex and high acuity needs, including:

  • Cardiac surgeries: Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, Heart Transplant, MAZE, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices
  • Thoracic procedures: VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Lung Transplant, Hiatal Hernia Repair
  • Vascular procedures: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience (highest required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (explicitly stated)
• Skills: Scrub experience with a proficiency rating of 3 or 4 on the skills list
• Call Requirements:

  • 2-4 weeknight call shifts per 4-week schedule
  • 1-2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Call shifts are no longer than 12 hours
  • Weekend call limited to Friday/Saturday night or Saturday/Sunday daytime only
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
  • BLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
  • PALS and NRP as applicable (AHA only, no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
• Licensure: Valid state RN license with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start, renewed annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and updated annually
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if past positive)
  • Required immunizations/titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen not accepted)
  • Flu vaccination required year-round with no exemptions allowed (egg-free vaccine available for allergies)
• Orientation: Paid orientation with flexible hours (24-36 hours at discretion)
