Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Summary

  • Position requires floating to multiple units including NICU, PICU, ED, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical as needed.
  • Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations and will be assigned appropriately.
  • Ohio State or Compact RN license required.

Experience Requirements

  • Preferred: Close to 2 years of RN experience.
  • 2 supervisory references required; at least one must be from a supervisor or manager.
  • Charge RN reference acceptable for one of the references. Peer references are not accepted.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Ohio State or Compact RN license required.
  • Required certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU RNs
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • Verification of licensure and certifications must be completed within 30 days of start.

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including a 7-year search covering all counties lived or worked.
  • Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
  • Sex offender search and various Ohio state-specific registry searches required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year, with specific protocols for positive results.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (facility accepts Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical exam copy).
  • N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start.
  • Immunizations required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), with booster protocols as applicable.

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (one must be supervisory).
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
  • Floating to various units is mandatory.

This position is ideal for RNs with pediatric critical care experience who are flexible and willing to float across multiple units in a pediatric hospital setting. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and certifications is mandatory.
