Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Position: Radiation Oncology Therapist
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, occasionally 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
• No call, no holidays, no weekends
• Procedures: SBRT, VMAT, IMRT, IGRT (CBCT, KV Imaging), SGRT Tattooless/Markless Department Set-ups
• Equipment: Varian True Beam with Aria, Align RT, Body ProLok One System, EPIC
• Documentation Systems: Aria, Epic, Eclipse
• Dress Code: Grape purple scrubs
• Important: Travelers must shave for mask fit testing; PAPRs and CAPRs are not provided or allowed for travelers. Failure to shave will result in cancellation.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology Therapy
• Prior travel experience is NOT required (1st time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT-T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Therapeutic) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit (verify with program management)
• State License: Wisconsin or Compact License required
• Primary source verification and NURSYS verification required prior to start

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search
• State-specific caregiver screening required for Wisconsin
• Drug screen negative within 12 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation (annual requirement)
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists (assigned via LMS platform)
• Completion of confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct prior to start
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing (not required for some non-patient facing roles)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams and other competency exams may be required per Aya standards (not required by facility)

• Fit testing is mandatory and must be completed onsite during orientation.
• Failure to meet fit testing requirements (including shaving) will result in assignment cancellation.
