Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each; call depending on census; every other weekend
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling is acceptable
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• Start Date: ASAP

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)

Licensure

• Valid RN licensure for West Virginia required
• Cerner experience preferred

Vaccination and Health Requirements

• Flu Vaccine: Required during October 2024 - March 2025 flu season; declinations not accepted
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not mandatory; proof of vaccination or signed declination accepted
• Other Vaccinations/Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 3 months) or annual TB questionnaire for positive responders
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series required
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination or immunity required
  • Drug Screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask Test: Within 1 year of start, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Must clock in and out to receive payment
• Any missed shift requires a make-up shift during the same work week or pay period
• Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks and verifications required (including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules and confidentiality agreements prior to start
• Skills checklist and competency exams required annually
• Pass/fail testing on medication administration, blood administration, and EKG during orientation

Notes

• Previously employed permanent staff must wait 2 years before being hired as travelers
• Flu vaccination is strictly enforced with no declinations accepted during flu season
• Religious or medical exemptions for vaccinations require completion of specific exemption forms and approval prior to start
