Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU (Travel/Contract)
Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Assignment includes potential placement on an "Emergency Team" during emergency events, requiring you to stay at the facility until the event passes or be part of a relief team.
- Shift: 1845 - 0715 (overnight shift)
- Patient Census: Approximately 10 patients
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Float Policy: Float to other ICUs only when Neuro ICU is overstaffed or other units are critically understaffed.
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years as a Registered Nurse (Neuro ICU or critical care experience preferred)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Must be current and renewed annually
- Epic Electronic Health Record experience required
- NIHSS certification preferred but not required
Licensure
- Active Louisiana RN license or Compact License required upon submission
- License must be current and renewed if expiring within 30 days of start date
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Sex Offender Search required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Education verification of highest level required (primary or 3rd party)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Employment application and skills checklist required, with 7 years employment history and gap explanations if applicable
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tdap vaccine required for select units (ED, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, NICU)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable with emergency event assignments as directed by unit management.
- Color blind testing and competency exams are required annually.
- Photo for badge must be a recent, full-color, passport-style photo without obstructions or filters.
- COVID-19 medical or religious exemptions require facility-specific documentation.
