Job Opportunity: CT Tech (X-Ray and CT Tech Combined)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
• Work setting experience required: Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, Emergency Department
• Work setting experience preferred: Community Hospital
• General skills required: Portable X-rays
• X-ray procedure experience required:

  • Extremities (Upper and Lower)
  • Abdomen/GI
  • Spine/Pelvis
  • Head
  • Chest/Thorax
  • Musculoskeletal

Certifications Required

• ARRT Radiography (R)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• New York State License
• ARRT Advanced Certification preferred

Patient Population and Procedures

• Patients primarily from Emergency Department and Inpatients over weekends
• Outpatient exams possible during the day
• Basic X-ray exams: Chest, Abdomen, Extremities
• CT exams: Routine Head, Chest, Abdomen/Pelvis, CTA Head/Carotid, PE studies (most complex)

Prior Travel Experience

• First time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including all aliases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification for degree related to specialty

Certifications and Competencies

• ACLS preferred but not required for X-Ray Techs
• BLS required for all clinicians including X-Ray Techs
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) generally not required for this role
• Online verification of tech certifications required within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement required
• State license verification required within 30 days of start
• Harassment prevention training certificate required annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (PAPR education if fit test failed)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (TD not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire if positive or renewal needed
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug testing required within 30 days of start (specific panels detailed)
• Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start

Facility Specific Documents

• Government issued photo ID required
• Clear passport-style photo for badge
• Review of patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention, patient experience training, and other facility policies required prior to start
• Completion of pre-employment compliance attestations and modules required

History and Verification

• 2 professional references required
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually required
• 7-year work history verification required (attestation letter accepted as last resort)
