Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
Total Staffed Beds: 733
Charting System: Epic
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Rehab Evening shift)
- Minimum Experience: 2 years
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Work Restrictions: Per manager's discretion
- Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted hours are guaranteed
Special Policies
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for multiple units including ED, ICUs, Step Down, etc.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ED, OR, PICU, and certain other units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU
- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for various units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Must be completed via Relias and renewed annually; required for specific units with an 80% passing score
Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
- Education verification required; diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C
- Immunizations:
- TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations after 2/22/2021)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations after 2/22/2021)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
- TB screening: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive PPD
- Flu vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms and deadlines
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required but accepted if available

- Photo for badge: Professional passport-style photo required (no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)

- Completion of mandatory modules through Workday prior to start (due Monday before start date)
