Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Specialty: Med Surg RN – Oncology experience preferred but not required
Facility: Medical Center (Cerner EMR)

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Schedule: Weekdays, every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks) with possible extension
• Start Date: ASAP
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Blocked Schedule: Yes
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• Travel Experience: Not required

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• ONS Chemo/Bio Certification (preferred)

Skills & Requirements

• IV start skills required
• Oncology experience preferred but not mandatory
• Facility expects strong attendance; only 2-3 call-offs tolerated per contract
• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• 7-year criminal background check (updated annually) including SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated every 30 days for contract renewals)
• Education verification and transcript/diploma (as applicable)
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD within 12 months or Qgold/Tspot within 2 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations (within 2 years)
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
• Seasonal vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 13 – Apr 30)
  • COVID vaccine or declination required
• Stroke education: 8 CEU hours annually (Relias or equivalent accepted)
• NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start
• Color Blind Testing (online) required
• Competency exams and Core Parts I-III (HIPAA and facility-specific training)
• Facility-specific documents including background drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and badge photo
• Completion of Care Learning Modules and Cerner Learning Training Modules prior to orientation
• ReadySet (RS) Surveys (online health assessment paperwork) must be completed by facility deadline

Submission Requirements

• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Minimum 2 clinical or manager/charge references within the past year
• RN license verification (recently pulled within 2 days of submission)
• Copies of all required certifications included in submission packet

Additional Notes

• Facility uses Cerner EMR system
• Point of Care Technician Application required for Cath Lab RNs (not applicable here)
• Workers Compensation documentation preferred but not required
• Attendance is critical; facility has low tolerance for call-offs
