Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: West Plains, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Call Required: No

  • Radius Restriction: 60 mile radius rule, no exceptions

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Therapy) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Pretreatment skills: CT/iCT, CT Simulation, MRI, PET Scan
  • Beam Modifying/Positioning skills: Block cutting, CBCT/kV/mV imaging
  • Treatment Planning: Calculate radiation dose, design treatment plans, supervise implementation
  • Treatment experience: Benign Brain Tumors, Craniospinal, Total Body/Skin Irradiation
  • Internal Treatment: Hyperthermia, Beam Data Acquisition, Assist with Intracavity/Interstitial Administration
  • Brachytherapy: Assist with Intracavity/Interstitial Administration, Compute dose distribution
  • Record & Verify Systems experience: Varis-Vision, ARIA
  • Treatment Units experience: ARIA, Elekta Infinity, GE

Certifications Required at Time of Submission

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (T) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Therapy

  • General Skills: Care of patients in restraints, chart checks, crash cart, defibrillators, emergency cases, field shaping, IV starts, lift/transfer devices, patient/family teaching
  • Professional Knowledge: Isolation precautions, radiation safety, use of rapid response/code teams

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal check within a year of start, updated annually; includes SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Facility Level 3
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations or Titers:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID Vaccine or Medical/Religious Exemption (subject to approval)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Complete Employment Application/Resume
  • Skills Checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Facility is nicotine-free campus; no smoking areas
  • Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications as required
  • NURSYS verification required for RNs (not applicable here)

This position is ideal for Radiation Therapists with at least 1 year of experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in Missouri with a structured day shift and no call requirements.
