MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations on various patient populations following established protocols.
• Work under general supervision, reporting to site supervisor and radiology manager.
• Duties include general MRI exams and specialized procedures such as implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac imaging.
• Potential float between two nearby outpatient clinic locations.

Schedule

• Standard shift: Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM).
• Alternative shift options considered: 4x10-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM).
• Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on a rotating basis.
• No call requirement.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required.
• BLS certification required.

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions.
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required).
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days prior to start.
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days.
  • Measles, mumps, rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for mumps and rubella only).
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted).
• COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, a specific vaccination declination form must be completed.
• Orientation modules must be completed within 5 days of start.
• Photo for badge required prior to start.

Work Environment & Facility Details

• Facility type: Outpatient clinic.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Dress code: Teal scrub top and black pants.
• Parking: No cost.
• Radius rule: Must live within 60 miles of the facility.
• Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; consider before accepting new or extension assignments.

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted.
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks.
