Job Opportunity: Certified OB Tech

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Average Weekly Hours: 36

Job Description

• Support surgical services in obstetrics with a focus on OB surgical tech duties.
• Typical cases include C-sections, tubal ligations, D&Cs, cerclage removal, and hysterectomies.
• Daily surgical case volume ranges from 1 to 3 cases.
• Work involves assisting vaginal deliveries, decontamination, case cart preparation, scrubbing, circulating, aseptic technique, specimen delivery, stocking OR and labor/delivery rooms, and setting up D&C machines.
• Operate in 2 operating rooms.
• Scrubs are provided.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OB Technician.
• OB Technician experience within the last year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.

Additional Information

• Must be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
• Background checks include multiple state and federal searches and must be updated every 3 years.
• Facility requires completion of specific competency exams and annual safety manual acknowledgment.
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Drug screen and background check attestations must be completed by the staffing agency prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Certified OB Surgical Technologists seeking a travel contract with night shifts in a surgical obstetrics setting.
