Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, and Postpartum units.
- Must have experience with Level 1 Nursery.
- Charting requires previous Epic electronic health record experience.
- Weekend and holiday coverage required every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience.
- Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year.
- Nursery experience.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Certifications
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
Skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start.
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance within 30 days prior to start.
- Education verification of highest completed degree.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
- Required immunizations or documented immunity (or approved declinations where allowed):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for maternity)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - declinations not accepted for maternity
- Varicella - declinations not accepted for maternity
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with documentation)
- Influenza vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or facility-specific declination (most recent vaccine required)
- TB testing: Two PPDs or equivalent within required timeframes; positive TB requires chest x-ray and questionnaire.
- Completion of required facility-specific questionnaires and attestations.
Additional Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID.
- Two professional references within the last three years.
- Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually.
- May consider candidates without prior travel experience.
Work Environment
- Night shift with 12-hour shifts.
- Patient care ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients.
- Use of Epic electronic health record system.
