Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Brooktondale, New York
• Day shift: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
• 5x8 schedule, alternating weekends
• 40 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of nursing experience, excluding Home Health, Hospice, and School Services, within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Competency exam
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• 2 references
• Background check and fingerprinting
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months before start
• Drug test within 1 year of start
• New York State Staff Exclusion List screening
• New York Statewide Central Registry screening
• Confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement
• Completion of required state and facility forms

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation or titers
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
• COVID-19 booster is preferred, not required

Work Setting

• Nursing care for adjudicated male youth in a secure center
• Supervision staff will be present while nursing care is provided
• Duties include medication and controlled substance inventory, health plan review, staff training, clinical and administrative reporting, infection control, and treatment team participation
