Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Hollywood, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have 2-3 years of current experience functioning independently at bedside, managing ventilated patients in a NICU setting.
• Required to be familiar with the Servo U ventilator and proficient in its functions and modes used in NICU.
• Knowledge of Drager, Bunnell Jet Vent, Sensormedic 3100A oscillator, and Nitric Oxide is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license valid in Florida.
• Certifications required prior to start:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Respiratory Therapist experience.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Proof of immunizations or titers prior to start:

  • 2 MMR vaccinations or IGG titer
  • 2 Varicella vaccinations or IGG titer
  • Hepatitis B Surface Antibody (titer) or declination accepted
• TB test (QuantiFERON or T-Spot) completed within 12 months prior to start; if previously positive, chest X-ray and updated TB questionnaire required annually.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season or approved exemption.
• Physical/Health Statement attesting ability to meet job physical requirements, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA.
• Drug screen (10 panel) completed within 60 days prior to start.

Professional and Background Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID matching license state if applicable.
• Background check within 30 days prior to start, including 7-year county and national criminal history, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal sanction searches.
• Employment verification for the previous 7 years.
• Two professional references from managers or supervisors.
• Education verification of highest level completed.
• Color badge photo taken within the last 6 months (no selfies, solid blue background, shoulders up, no eyeglasses).
• Completion of skills checklist within 12 months prior to start.
• Completion of core competencies within 365 days prior to start with at least 80% pass rate.

Additional Notes

• Resume submission is required and will be reviewed before an offer is extended.
• Attestation forms and acknowledgment of receipt of required policies must be completed prior to onboarding.

This position requires a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist with NICU ventilator management expertise and current certifications, ready to work a night shift for a 13-week assignment in Florida.
