Job Opportunity: Anesthesia Technician

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Support anesthesia care teams by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Work hours are consistent weekdays with no weekend shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military. (Preferred: AHA)
  • Completion of a respirator fit test (N95) within 365 days prior to start date, updated annually. No religious or medical exemptions allowed.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation completed prior to fit testing and updated if medical status changes.
  • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) via vaccines or blood titer.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date, either by skin test or blood test, updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
  • Physician-signed health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months. Includes county and international residence/employment history for the past 7 years.
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
  • Verification of highest level of education achieved (HS/AS/BA/MA/advanced degree or certification as applicable).
  • Submission of a professional photo badge meeting specific criteria (color photo, plain background, no glasses, taken within past 6 months).
  • Submission of a detailed resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
  • Completion of a skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
  • Submission of a candidate coversheet for initial assignment and new facility submissions.

Additional Information

  • If a candidate has a positive TB skin test or titer, documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test is required.
  • Name change documentation may be required if credential names do not match legal name.
  • Some credentialing and background checks must be updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
  • Fit test updates can be done at specific locations if assignment is extended beyond original contract.

Experience Requirements

  • No explicit years of experience stated; candidates should have relevant experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
  • No prior travel experience required.
