Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 26 weeks)
Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Job Description

• Perform microbiology, blood bank, and generalist laboratory duties.
• Strong microbiology experience is required.
• Shared housing is provided at no cost.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associates' degree level education.
• Certification or registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, AMT, or HEW.
• Must have a valid professional license/certification with primary source verification completed before start. Massachusetts conditional licenses are not accepted.
• Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccination or proof of immunity.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break greater than 6 months.
  • Physician-signed health statement within 1 year of start date and updated if break exceeds 6 months.
  • Color vision test within 1 year of start date.
• Completion of FEMA ICS 100 training prior to onboarding (no exceptions).
• Criminal background check, Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks must be completed and updated as required.
• Two professional references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
• Resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any start date changes.
• Education verification through background check company.

Additional Information

• Must complete a housing agreement if staying in provided housing, with updated form required if there is a break of 35 days or more.
• Positive TB test requires documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test.
• Name change documentation may be required if credential names do not match legal name.
