Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

Location: Manning, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care based on patient assessment, history, physical examination, and data analysis.
• Implement nursing interventions aligned with the Plan of Care and physician orders.
• Conduct hourly patient rounds focusing on key patient needs.
• Maintain a professional and compassionate environment for patients, families, and visitors.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and fall risks following standard protocols.
• Support department performance through precepting and mentoring new staff.
• Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives and professional development.
• Manage medication storage and safety, including large volume IVs and pre-packaged medication kits.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Carolina (Nursys verification required within 30 days of start).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only).
• Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated (assume standard RN Med/Surg competency).
• Must provide:

  • Proof of immunizations or titers for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella (no declinations accepted).
  • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing with recent negative results.
  • Influenza vaccine required if working September through April (medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case).
  • Valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Social Security card.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel test completed within 30 days of start (rapid screens not accepted).
  • Criminal background check covering last 7 years with multiple searches (county, state, national, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS trace, education verification) completed within 60 days of start.
  • Employment verification for the past 5 years.
  • Clinical skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually.
