Registered Nurse - House Supervisor / Transfer Center Coordinator

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

This role combines two key responsibilities:

  • House Supervisor:

    • Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and directing nursing unit activities in the absence of Nurse Managers and Administration.
    • Provides leadership, supervises nursing staff, and ensures high-quality nursing care.
    • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practices.
    • Works independently and as part of a team.
    • Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Transfer Center Coordinator:

    • Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating safe, timely, and efficient patient transfers within and between facilities.
    • Acts as a communication hub among referring facilities, physicians, nursing leadership, bed management, and ancillary departments.
    • Ensures appropriate patient placement based on clinical needs and bed availability.
    • Maintains compliance and detailed records for quality assurance.
    • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
  • Minimum of 4 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI/MOAB) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Valid Driver’s License

Work Schedule

  • House Supervisor: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Transfer Center Coordinator: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Total hours approximately 36 hours per week (12 hours as House Supervisor, 24 hours as Transfer Center Coordinator)
