Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Estimated Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week, with possible overtime
Float Requirement: May be required to float to nearby campuses occasionally
On-Call: Not part of regular call rotation but may be called in during low census; must be able to arrive onsite within one hour if called

Job Description

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry
• Positions available on both Medical Surgical and Telemetry units
• Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system

Additional Information

• Traveler must be able to respond promptly if called in during low census periods
• Telemetry competency must be demonstrated by passing a dysrhythmia test during the first week
• Must maintain all required documentation and certifications current throughout the assignment
