NICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Long-Term Assignment
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Overview
- Position requires proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system.
- Must be available to work a specific shift starting June 11, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, related to anticipated strike coverage.
- Orientation and badge pickup scheduled for June 10, 2026.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois.
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Completion of DCI/BVP workplace violence prevention training.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience.
- NICU experience within the last year.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Health & Immunizations
- COVID-19: Two vaccines plus booster or documented declination.
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer.
- Hepatitis B: Record of three immunizations, immune titer, or declination.
- Influenza vaccine or declination required for the 2025-2026 flu season.
- Varicella: Vaccination or immunity titer.
- Tdap vaccine (declination not accepted in some regions).
- TB test within one year of start date.
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray (optional).
Drug Screening & Background
- Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC within 60 days of start.
- National criminal background check within one year of start date.
Other Requirements
- Annual respirator fit test completed prior to start.
- Physical/health statement completed annually, stating clearance to work.
- Driver’s license, state ID, or passport required for onboarding.
- Social Security card or passport for identity verification.
- Badge photo: Clear JPEG headshot with plain background.
- Completion of core competencies exam with a minimum score of 80%.
- Signed job description within the past year.
- Completion of onboarding education attestation prior to clearance.
- Prime agency attestation and SAM/EPLS exclusion search completed prior to start.
Documentation Required at Submission
- Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history.
- Two professional references, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
- Skills checklist.
Additional Notes
- Fit testing will not be completed onsite; must be done prior to start.
- Some compliance documents and attestations are site-specific and must be completed before clearance.
- This is a long-term assignment (LTA) with a 13-week contract duration.
