Surgical Technician (Specialized in Ortho Trauma, Neuro, Spine, Gynecology, and Urology)

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4-10 hour shifts), Full Time (40 hours/week)

Job Summary

• Provide support during surgical procedures by setting up operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Function as scrub person throughout procedures under supervision.
• Operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments.
• Coordinate communication among personnel, physicians, and patients.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting team goals and providing constructive feedback.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet changing demands.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and equipment.
• Take initiative to contribute beyond formal duties, including suggesting innovative ideas.
• Maintain a patient care environment focused on respect, dignity, and patient needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Orthopedic Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience as a Surgical Technician.
