Surgical Tech - Jacksonville, Florida (Travel Contract)

Position Overview:

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to ensure an optimal peri-operative experience.
• Requires knowledge of anatomy, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.

Contract Length:

• Approximately 13 weeks (90 days ≈ 13 weeks)

Additional Experience & Competencies:

• Experience in multiple specialties including Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular surgery.
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and operation/care of surgical equipment.
• Awareness of patient and staff safety protocols.
• Ability to react quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills across various personnel levels.
• Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the shift, moderate to heavy lifting, and exposure to potential hazards such as cuts, burns, infections, biohazardous chemicals, and x-rays.

Licensure/Certification:

• Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional specialty certifications or training may be required depending on the work area.
