Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff, applies evidence-based practice, and participates in quality and safety improvement efforts. The role includes assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans, as well as patient/family education and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, and implement individualized plans of care; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as mentor/preceptor.
• Participate in teamwork, quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
