Job Summary

• Implements plan of care as provided by the physical therapist, treating patients of all ages.
• Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.
• Position is in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Educate patients, family, caregivers, students, and other healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follow the therapist's plan of care and adjust treatment based on patient response after communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produce documentation in accordance with clinical documentation policies.
• Complete daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR.
• Provide treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinate with physical therapist on patient treatment interventions.
• Communicate with referring providers on patient progress and treatment recommendations.
• Complete annual education as assigned to comply with relevant program requirements (if applicable).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Illinois
• At least 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or higher
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in an outpatient setting

Work Schedule

• Day shift, typically 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Approximately 40 hours per week with variable hours.
