Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology (Contract)
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract Staffing
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology, you will provide safe, competent, and quality nursing care to patients based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver patient care using a relationship-centered approach and nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs, applying critical thinking in care management.
- Integrate assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Prioritize patient care activities including teaching, rounding, coaching, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and care team members.
- Manage assignments and allocate resources effectively within the care delivery model.
Patient Experience
- Facilitate patient-centered care practices such as bedside shift reports, purposeful hourly rounding, medication reviews, and discharge wrap-ups.
- Respect patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to improve patient care perceptions.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly and escalate when necessary.
- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
Quality and Safety
- Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate clinical skills essential to quality and safety.
- Participate in process improvement, peer reviews, and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate on quality improvement projects and nursing research.
- Follow high reliability principles to avoid high-risk behaviors.
- Report safety hazards or gaps according to protocol.
- Document nursing practice accurately to support quality initiatives.
Operations
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinate supply and inventory management with nursing leadership.
- Escalate resource deficits appropriately.
- Promote cost-effective patient care approaches.
- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts.
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of ambulatory care experience
- Minimum 2 years of radiation safety experience
- Minimum 2 years of post-procedural care experience
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Proficient IV skills
- Knowledge and application of radiation safety principles
Contract Length
Approximately 13 weeks (89 days).
