Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Travel)

Location: Iron River, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (overtime after 80 hours in second week)
• Orientation Week: Hours not guaranteed
• Unit: 25-bed Medical-Surgical unit
• Patient Ratios: 1:4–1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights)
• Patient Population: Primarily geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, diabetes, etc.
• Float Requirements: Must float to Emergency Department within competency
• On Call/Call Back: May be on call during low census; minimum 2-hour call back
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Scrub Colors: Any colored scrubs allowed
• Radius Rule: Must live outside 50 miles of the facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system

Additional Notes

• Candidates with both Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department experience are highly preferred
• Travelers able to work across multiple departments are ideal, but Medical-Surgical-only candidates will be fully considered
