Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel RN position in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float to all inpatient units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
• 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience
• Intermediate Care experience
• Telemetry experience
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips
• Experience with Epic
• One completed travel assignment

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Overtime after 48 hours worked
• Eligible for 36 hours of low-census unbillable time
• Unit may low-census in 4-hour increments
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4

Unit Setting

• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
• Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover
• Common patient types include post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow cases
