Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Requirements: Combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts, varied schedules including:

  • 07:00-15:00
  • 07:00-19:00
  • 15:00-23:00
  • 11:00-23:00
  • 03:00-15:00
  • 19:00-23:00
  • 15:00-03:00
• Weekend/Holiday: Every third weekend or more frequent if needed; every other holiday
• Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to nearby facilities (Merrill, Wausau, Langlade, Stanley)
• On Call/Call Back: None required but encouraged; call back pay available if called in
• Radius Rule: Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Unit Details

• 8-bed Emergency Department with potential overflow into clinical exam rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio dependent on acuity, up to 1:5
• Charting system: Epic preferred but not required
• Scrubs: Any clean, work-appropriate scrubs abiding by PPE guidelines

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Certifications must be from AHA or ARC
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years in Emergency Room nursing
• Vaccination Policy: Flu and COVID vaccination required during flu season; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times

Additional Information

• Eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
• Travelers may be placed on call for low census hours, which count toward unbillable hours
• Failure to comply with vaccination and mask policies may result in corrective action

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs comfortable with varied shifts, floating between facilities, and working in a fast-paced environment.
